Little Things Add Up!
Can a bottle drive still raise money for a cause? The answer is simple. YES! The wonderful dedicated food court staff at the Louheed Town Centre recently raised a $1,000. for PADS through their bottle recycling program. In this picture front – Wendy; back (L-R) Lydia, Christina & Malti with just a few of the bottles and cans they returned at $0.05 per item. A Huge PADS Thanks to everyone who continues to do the little things that make a big difference!

Telus Day of Service
“The weather didn’t seem to dampen the spirits or enthusiasm of the 25 Telus Volunteers plus our own Joan & Wayne Hunter, half a dozen volunteer puppy raisers and PADS board members who made a special effort to help out at the PADS Burnaby Campus on Saturday May 29th. A PADS client also gave a demonstration with their dog to everyone who came out to help. Global TV also turned up and this video clip appeared on the 6:30 pm news the same day. PADS clients, volunteers and staff wish to extend sincere thanks for everyone who helped make our day! Your involvement really does make a difference!” Click here for the Video Clip

A Birthday Gift!Sophia, a grade one student saw the video of Rumor. She was so inspired by the video that she wanted to do something for PADS. She asked her friends to bring cash to her birthday party instead of presents. She donated half of the cash to PADS. When Mrs. Smith came to her classroom with Bentley she gave her the cheque for the money.

Tiki in Flight! This week’s success goes to PADS Volunteer & Westjet staff member Jeanne. Jeanne spotted 6 BC Bound PADS puppies at the Halifax Airport last month and immediately volunteered to join the ranks of fellow Westjet Employees that act as travel companions for these tiny precious passengers. Jeanne boarded a flight with 8 week old “Tiki” in Halifax and nearly 9 hours later delivered her safely into the arms of Calgary Puppy-Raising Supervisor Heather Kidd. The generosity of wonderful volunteers like Jeanne means that puppies travelling to PADS from other schools and breeders can get a happy, cuddly start to their working careers.

Elves & Pups! This week's success goes to three "elves": Carson (Work Experience Student), Brian (Volunteer) & Terray (owner of Terrarust Labradors). Brian and Carson tinkered away at everything and anything we asked, helping us get through a very exciting holiday season. Thanks to the success of our Holiday Greeting Cards & Giving Tree Campaign they were kept busy with printing cards, assembling, sorting and decorating minature trees and a zillion other little things. Their efforts were rewarded with cuddles with two of Terray's stunning puppies, London (yellow) and Paris II (Black) donated to our service dog program this week. Thank you all for your dedication to PADS!
