Porter II was being raised and trained to be an assistance dog for someone with a physical disability or who is deaf or hard-of-hearing but in February, 2015, she was chosen for the Assistance Dogs International Breeding Cooperative. Porter II remained as a member of the PADS community but her 22 puppies from 4 litters were shared with other assistance dog schools in Virginia, Florida, Oregon, Texas, California and Edmonton, Alberta. Five of her progeny have been selected for breeding and will carry on Porter’s wonderful legacy. She is now retired.
It truly takes a village to raise a puppy, and you can be part of the PADS village — all donations raised through this page go directly towards our veterinary care fund to ensure healthy, happy puppies. Help support PADS today.
