BRITE had a wonderful holiday season with the PADS Calgary staff, volunteers and other dogs-in-training. Brite enjoyed a little bit of rest and the right amount of work so that she will be ready for her future client. Brite continues to practice all her service skills and is working on more specific skills like holding a door open for her handler. Brite told Santa that she would like some fun toys and a romp in the snow with her friends for Christmas. During the holiday break, she got her wish and spent time alternately playing in the snow with her canine buddies and relaxing at home! We continue to look for the right client match for Brite and hope to have more news soon!

  • Skills being learned: Putting items into a bin, holding doors open, helping with the removal of jackets and socks.
  • Recent field trips: Petland, Doodle Dogs, Central Memorial High School, Cross Iron Mills.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Some dog distraction, prey drive.
  • Potential career path: Service
