Winter has officially come to Calgary and BURKE has been continuing to learn and grow. He is working on his manners and skills with various handlers whenever possible so he will be ready to transfer his skills to his future client. Burke continues to work on skills to support people with some levels of anxiety and is great at deep pressure, laying on top of his handler to help sooth someone who is feeling anxious or panicked. He is also a great sport when dressed up and was the cutest bumble bee at the belated Halloween party!

  • Skills being learned: ‘My lap’, deep pressure, ‘bow’, ‘fist bump’, chin targeting to laps and the ground, ‘roll over’, retrieving medication, ‘light’, ‘button’, ‘behind.’
  • Recent field trips: Off leash area, South Campus Hospital, Social Worker De-stress Event.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Mouthing at hands when greeting, olfactory and dog distraction.
  • Potential career path: AFD or PTSD

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Burke!
