Pupdate: Well everyone, January marked the beginning of a brand new year for me in more ways than one. Without going into too many personal details; I went to the vet and ended up with a big plastic cone on my head for 2 weeks. The worst part was I wasn’t allowed to run around at all during those 2 weeks! Boring! Thankfully I’m all healed up now so everything is back to normal.
My raisers have really started to ramp up my training, something about getting ready to be assessed sometime in the near future (That sounds exciting I wonder what that will involve). We’ve spent a lot of time trying to build duration which is hard for me because I’m not a huge fan of sitting still, but I get cookies when I do so I guess that’s okay. Mum has also taken to doing what she calls “walking meals”, basically instead of giving me breakfast or dinner in my bowl we go out and walk up and down our cul-de-sac practicing my loose leash walking and positioning skills. Apparently depending on if we start from a “Heel” or “Side” determines which side I’m supposed to walk on (who knew?) It’s fun but it would really be much faster if she just put the food in the bowl.
My favorite thing that happened this month is we discovered a new dog park. It’s awesome, there are so many puppies to play with that sometimes I have a hard time sticking with just one so I run around and say hi to everyone! However, I still remember to go running back to my raisers then I hear “Here”, there are always good cookies when I do that.
Well that’s about it for me this month, I’m going to a puppy sitter for a few days while my raisers sing some concerts. Hopefully I’ll have lots of new adventures to tell you about next month.
