DUNE recently got to visit Colliery Dam. He got the opportunity to meet many other dogs at the off-leash dog park right off the water near the dam. Dune also got to practice good leash manners and obedience when a volunteer handled him through an obstacle course where the volunteer held a tray with 2 cups of water. He did a great job!
- Skills being learned: Retrieve basics, ‘push’, ‘light.’
- Recent field trips: Downtown Nanaimo, Colliery Dam
- Possible behavior challenges: Jumping onto couch, waking up from deep sleep and barking, scavenging for non-dog toys and food from garbage, countertops and furniture.
