DUSTY II is a fun-loving girl who is always keen to get training. She loves to spend time in the training center with Lisa and is learning to settle and chill out when it isn’t her turn to train. Her main challenge this month is impulse control and has been playing lots of games to help her learn to take in the distraction and work past it and building default behavior. When she isn’t training, Dusty loves to have a good romp in the yard with training buddies Zaria, Truffle and Valour. Dusty took a little break at the end of this month due to a mild illness, but nothing gets this girl down for long! She is looking forward to getting back at it and is as excited as ever to get to work!

  • Skills being learned: Sharpening basic obedience cues and adding durations, practicing waiting her turn quietly and relaxing in the space when she is not being directly interacted with.
  • Recent field trips: Lougheed Mall, Ikea, PetSmart, Trout Lake, various training field trips.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Inhibition with novel tasks, sensitivity to novel or unexpected sounds, impulse control on leash, some alert barking.
  • Potential career path: AFD
