When we chatted last month, I told you that my first birthday was coming up, and yes it did! It was the best day of my life 😉
My raiser told me that in order to party and to mark this special occasion with my family, I had to work first. Like I don’t work every single day, duh! So we went along to the PADS fundraiser and not only did I meet those two most wonderful and magical people called Mr. & Mrs. Claus, but my job was to pose in front of the camera. If you know me well, you know that’s one of my most valuable skills 😉
After raising $540.00 for our worthy organization, it was time to return to my very first home where my brother and I would blowout our first candles. The day was full of laughter, play time and yes, cupcakes 🙂 I didn’t know that I liked such things and it was so tasty that we decided to share with all the others furry guests.
Last month was more than just birthday traditions as I discovered a new holiday. So let me tell you about my Halloween. I was dressed like a bone collector and although I understood very clearly the importance of wearing this ridiculous outfit, I didn’t even get the chance to investigate the crime scene. Kids kept coming to the door for updates and candies. The constant disruption made me disregard what I thought was my Halloween task, and to focus on the front door instead. I am glad I did because by the end of the night, I wasn’t bothered and actually stopped barking at the bell.
November has also found itself to be about others. My raisers took me to many different charitable and PADS events which made me realize that other people also had feelings, needed attention, and might not be as fortunate as I am lucky to be. I have never been 100% comfortable with being touched by strangers while I am working but these activities are improving my stamina and resiliency. Don’t get me wrong, I still think that keeping my focus on my job and my handler as they allow random people to pet me is challenging, but once I am in the groove, I am pretty good at it.
I could probably talk to you for hours about all the other incredible things that happened last month, but I fear that there was too many fun things to list.
Until next time!
