GUCCI’S hard work has been paying off. While trainers Margaret and Ashley were in town, they helped run her through the skills portion of the pre-placement test and she did great! She has been staying with trainer Miranda and has a great time playing with her buddy, pet dog Vista and heading to the park every morning. She helped Miranda do a demonstration at the Calgary Pet Expo and was so enthusiastic about showing off that she can fetch a bottle of water from the fridge that she pulled the entire demonstration box over in the middle of the presentation. The comic relief was much appreciated, and she still went back and brought that bottle of water out of the rubble.
- Skills being learned: ‘Foot’, ‘back’, ‘button’, ‘up’, ‘behind’, ‘switch’, ‘turn around’, retrieving items of varying difficulty.
- Recent field trips: Downtown Calgary, The Camera Store, Petland, Cabela’s, Calgary Pet Expo.
- Possible behavior challenges: Some cape sensitivity, alert barking, discomfort on some surfaces.
