HAMMOND is doing great in advanced training so far! He has been spending lots of time learning bracing skills, which makes him pretty special because not all dogs have Hammond’s special combination of being both eager to work and relaxed enough to potentially act as someone’s stability. Hammond is a true credit to his puppy raisers, the Beaton family and Alex Watt. He is confident, happy, eager to learn and easy going in all situations. We are excited to see where advanced training takes him!
- Skills being learned: Body targeting, movement skills, chin targeting, retrieve, ‘step’, bracing skills.
- Recent field trips: Marbough Mall, Calgary Pride Festival, La Cay restaurant, Michaels Craft Store.
- Possible behavior challenges: Some dog distraction, cautious on different surfaces.
- Potential career path: Service, AFD or PTSD
