What a busy month January has been! I stayed overnight at 3 different peoples houses! I am so happy to be part of a community where there is never a shortage of warm dog beds and new toys for me to play with. This month I got to spend time with 2 of my sitters. I got lots and lots of snuggles and got to practice listening to new people in new environments. As an assistance dog in training, it sure is important for me to know how to behave in whatever environment my client may take me to. I am currently working on my distance and duration behaviours. This means that when the hoomans ask me to do something such as “sit” I stay sitting no matter what happens around me until they say “release” or ask me to do something else. I’m still practising not getting distracted but my hooman says I’m doing just fine.
