IROKO had a wonderful holiday season with the PADS Calgary staff, volunteers and other dogs-in-training. Iroko enjoyed a little bit of rest and the right amount of work so that he will be ready for his future client.  He continues to work on basic service skills and is progressing nicely. His retrieve is coming along well, and he is almost ready to start working with slightly more difficult items. Iroko told Santa that he would like a wrestle in the park with his friends and an extra few cups of kibble for Christmas; like a true lab, he is always jazzed about the prospect of extra food.

  • Skills being learned: ‘Light’, holding items, loose leash walking, movement skills, chin targeting, default behaviors.
  • Recent field trips: Petland, Doodle Dogs, Central Memorial High School, Cross Iron Mills.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Occasional alert barking, hesitates to go through tight spaces, dog distraction, reluctant to bring toys/items back to his person.
  • Potential career path: Service

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Iroko!
