IROKO’S big news this month is that he will be running through pre-placement testing in August. This fun boy will make a fabulous partner for his future person and we are so excited to share more about his progress soon. In the meantime, we are taking advantage of the warm weather and enjoying taking training on the road to outdoor locations like the local park. Public locations are great places to practice all the skills he will need to pass his pre-placement testing, so Iroko is getting lots of practice in various environments so he can ace his testing! Of course, when you are at the park, it can’t be all work so there are plenty of play breaks with his training mates Mallee, Groovy and Swell.

  • Skills being learned: Wheelchair pulling, retrieve deliveries, “switch”, “behind”
  • Recent field trips: Chinook Centre, Fish Creek Library, off leash areas, Chasin Tails
  • Possible behavior challenges: Occasional alert barking, dog distraction, sometimes too enthusiastic
  • Advanced training location: Calgary
  • Potential career path: Assistance Dog

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Iroko!
