JERICHO has been spending this month getting to know Apprentice Instructor Ashley and doing some one on one work with Training Programs Manager Margaret. Margaret, with the assistance of Jessica and several dedicated advanced training volunteers, will be continuing Jericho’s training as his advanced trainer for the time being. Jericho’s primary challenge is that he sometimes he barks at people or dogs. We are exploring what his triggers are and are working on training towards a calmer, quieter reaction. Jericho is a keen worker who likes to work on skills and makes friends easily in the kennel with his sweet personality. We are excited to see where his training takes him!

  • Skills being learned: β€˜Button’, β€˜push’, β€˜light’, retrieve foundations, working on settling into a new space without barking at unseen noises.
  • Recent field trips: Robert Burnaby Park, Ikea, various training field trips.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Alert barking, particularly towards unseen noises or people who β€œappear”, cape sensitivity, impulse control on leash.
  • Potential career path: Service or PTSD

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Jericho!
