JERICHO is one of the newest recruits to the kennel here in Burnaby and he has quickly captured the hearts of the volunteers and his trainer Lisa. Jericho loves to play; toys are particularly rewarding to him. He is working on pairing playtime with his obedience cues and his PADS cape, which he sometimes struggles to put on when asked. Jericho is also working on building focus on his trainer while around various new distractions and he is getting better every day. He has fit really well into kennel life and enjoys cuddling in the kennel with buddy Zaria or having a good romp in the yard with Dusty, Truffle and Zaria.

  • Skills being learned: Foundations for service skills, engagement with handler around various distractions, loose leash walking.
  • Recent field trips: Ikea, Maplewood Farms, Lougheed Mall, off-leash dog park, Downtown New Westminster, local secondary schools, Choices Market, PetSmart.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Alert barking in vehicles and at home, cape sensitivity, impulse control on leash.
  • Potential career path: Service, AFD or PTSD

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Jericho!
