MARA recently joined advanced training. She has lots of energy and is having a blast channeling it into skills. She hasn’t quite mastered any specific skills yet but loves to work with a target and touch stick. Mara has also been working on her foot movement skills and practicing default ‘leave it’. She has started going on walks next to a power wheelchair and is happy to trot along next to it.
- Skills being learned: Footfall, targeting and touch stick introduction for special skills, introduction to retrieve.
- Recent field trips: PNE, Cariboo Park, Lougheed Mall, other assorted training field trips.
- Possible behavior challenges: Barking at people entering a space or in a mask, arousal in certain exciting scenarios.
- Potential career path: Service, AFD or PTSD
