The autumn days of October were filled with new things to do and new places to go. Walks on leaf-covered roadways and experiencing pumpkins, scarecrows, haunted houses, fireworks, doorbells and costumes are just a few of the new things for Odin this month.
A family wedding was an opportunity to attend a wedding rehearsal followed by a dinner out with 16 very happy and excited people at Milestones Restaurant. (Odin stayed with the puppy sitter on the day of the wedding π ) On Thanksgiving Day, Odin mingled with family and experienced the smells of roast turkey for the first time. (Did he even know what he was smelling and how wonderful it all tasted?)
A week with Donna, the puppy sitter, was a highlight too. Who wouldn’t love getting to socialize for seven days with a Great Dane and throw in some added play time with visits from two other family dogs? Thanks Donna!
Halloween activities were pretty INTERESTING. Art Knapps Children’s Fair and a haunted house in Coquitlam were at the top of the list of outings. Flashing lights, smoke filled bubbles bursting in his face, giggling skeletons, scary music, big black cats, witches and crowds of children and parents all caught Odin’s interest and attention. No doubt he was a little excited and bewildered by it all but he seemed to recover in short time.
All in all it has been quite a month for Odin. Adolescence is front and centre these days and it is clearly evident during training! He is 9 months old, weighs 58 pounds and is a handsome and very strong puppy! Odin has a mind of his own at times and can be very clever at other times. Most of the time, however, he is as cute as ever and makes us all laugh aloud when he brings us a favourite toy and eagerly invites us to play with him.
