Queenie here. I’m nearly one … it’s my birthday on 26th and my raiser is going to have a small party for me, well actually 2 parties. When I go and see my children at school I have to tell them that this will be the last week they will see me before the summer holidays. I know that the children will give me extra hugs and will miss me going into school. You see, the day before my birthday I am going to stay with another puppy raiser. I’ve been told that I will go and stay with this other raiser for 3 weeks. Apparently it will help me adapt to another house and routine.

This month has been a busy one. There have been lots of outings. Hospital appointments, Dr office visits, lots of car rides to baseball and softball games. I went to Delta to a staff destressing event and we sat by a pond full of ducks and geese. Don’t tell anyone but under my blanket I sniffed out some dried goose poop and tried to eat it but my raiser stopped me. Oh it smelled so good! The geese were really big and came quite close to me. I watched them go in and out of the water. It was very hot and I would have liked to jump in the pond and have a swim. At school they held a track and field meet and I got to see 100’s of children all running and jumping and having a fun day out of the classroom, it was fun until the man with the starters pistol started firing it up in the air every 2 minutes. I didn’t like that so we left and had a nice quiet walk back at home. Another day we walked 3.5km with all the children and teachers who were raising money for ALS. The weather has been sunny and warm so I have been outside more than usual. Every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times I have to walk nicely on my leash and have to stay really close to my raiser. We go for walks all over the place. She says it’s really important not to pull, but we see dogs and I just want to say hello to them. Anyway that’s my story for this month. I’m very excited about next month and am told that there is going to be a big surprise for me when I get home from my swap.
