SASSAFRAS is the newest dog to advanced training. This sweet girl is lots of fun and is quickly charming the kennel staff and volunteers with her sassy personality! Sassafras has enjoyed her first month of hearing training and is progressing well. She has lots of energy and is keen to learn. Her trainer Ashley is training Sassafras to nose bump to alert to sounds and Sassafras is loving getting to run around the training spaces poking Ashley with her nose! So far, she is looking sharp and we are excited to see her continue to grow in her skills!
- Skills being learned: Nose bump alert, timer alert, intro to door knock alert.
- Recent field trips: Ikea, Robert Burnaby Park, various training field trips.
- Possible behavior challenges: Struggles with default ‘leave it’ for food on the floor.
