SKAHA II recently joined advanced training.  She has a sweet disposition and likes to be near her people.  She can freeze up sometimes when working on skills or when walking so we are working on building her confidence as well as working on foot movement with things like a ‘perch’ and platform work.  Skaha is really interested in food on the floor or elevated surfaces, so she is hard at work learning to ignore food, wherever it may be.  She is having a lot of fun so far and is beginning to dabble in some special skills as well.  She is most keen to work on ‘push’ with a target.

  • Skills being learned: Footfall, default ‘leave it’, targeting and touch stick introduction for special skills.
  • Recent field trips: Ikea, Lougheed Mall, Choices Market, other training field trips.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Freezing on leash, scavenging.
  • Potential career path: Service, AFD or PTSD

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Skaha!
