StarΒ has been doing an awesome job in field trips and outings and is very good at settling when needed. She has a nice moderate energy that we want to see in our service dogs. Star continues to learn details of how to retrieve and hold different items gently and securely. Different items require different pressure and grip to hold. Some items can even taste a little weird, like metal items. We have to work slowly and not rush with this skill, as she has a tendency to βchatterβ the item in her mouth when unsure and excited. She is now also starting on her βbuttonβ so she can open automatic doors and activate crosswalk buttons.
