TOMMY had an extra special meetup with his half-brother Service Dog Stark, and their aunt, AFD Milan. He had lots of fun with the two working dogs and it was fun break while still working on recall and good manners on the trails. Tommy also got to share wisdom with 9-week-old PADS Burnaby; they are both sponsored by the mister Blake Foundation. Tommy really enjoyed his time with her! Tommy had a practice training PPT to identify where he needs more work and while he has made great progress, his impulse control around balls is still an issue. Lots more practice on that, and on building duration inside stores. We are working on building up his field trip hours, while following COVID-19 protocols.

  • Skills being learned: Engage/disengage for thrown toys, strengthening basic obedience, recall in high distraction areas
  • Recent field trips: Grocery store, local dog parks, PetSmart, Lougheed Mall
  • Possible behavior challenges: Prey drive, impulse control around thrown balls
  • Advanced training location: Lower Mainland – Satellite
  • Potential career path: Assistance Dog

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Tommy!
