We’re getting into the swing of summer with the recent good weather and have been taking advantage of the warm days by spending as much time as possible taking our obedience on the road and working in local parks. TONKA is loving that after holding his 5-minute sit or 3-minute stand that he then gets to go romp and play with his friends. Fingers crossed that all this hard work will pay off when Margaret comes by at the beginning of June to run his public access test.
- Skills being learned: Bracing for wheelchair transfers, assisting with the removal of clothing, ‘behind’, ‘foot’, differentiating between verbal cues.
- Recent field trips: Home Depot, MacLeod Trail Animal Hospital, local parks, 3D rendering studio
- Possible behavior challenges: f he gets worried, he has a hard time recovering, feels unsure when not being reinforced often enough
- Potential career path: Service or PTSD
