TRUFFLE is progressing on her retrieve but has been moving at a slower pace then her ‘classmates’. She is doing very well with basic retrieve using plastic and wooden dumbbells and can carry a dumbbell in her mouth for a short duration. She is working on differentiating between skills using her feet and skills using her mouth and can get a bit silly when asked to retrieve more complicated objects off the floor. Truffle is confident and well mannered during public outings and is making huge strides on not pulling on leash to reach an item she wants. When she is not training hard, Truffle loves to have a good play in the yard with her kennel buddy, Zaria.
- Skills being learned: Retrieve of various dumbbells of different weight and texture, loose leash walking, impulse control work when on leash in public.
- Recent field trips: Ambleside Park, Ikea, various local secondary schools, various local malls, Downtown Vancouver, Superstore, PetSmart, New Westminster Quay, PNE, 8 Rinks.
- Possible behavior challenges: Hesitant to pick up metal items, some mild barrier frustration.
- Potential career path: Service
