TRUFFLE is having lots of fun in “university”! Her playful nature is an asset when learning new skills, especially for targeting lights and buttons and practicing tug. Truffle has been going on lots of field trips this month and takes on all new challenges with a pep in her step and lots of energy. When she is not working hard, Truffle can be found cuddled up in her kennel run with her buddy, Zivy.

  • Skills being learned: ‘Tug’, ‘button’, ‘light’, retrieve with various dumbbells, strengthening basic obedience, loose leash walking beside a power chair, ‘sit’/’release’ sequence as a cue to investigate something that she is interested in.
  • Recent field trips: Lougheed Mall, various local grocery stores, Trout Lake off leash dog park, Vancouver Aquarium, Downtown New Westminster.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Pulling on leash to get what she wants.
  • Potential career path: Service, AFD or PTSD
