VESPER has a quirky and goofy personality that many people adore and allows her to make instant connections. Vesper enjoys working on service dog skills but has demonstrated that she would prefer a career with more predictable public outings. She hopes to find a career as an AFD, where she can support lots of people and enjoy “workplace public access”, avoiding the expectations of louder, more stressful environments. Vesper is hoping that she can take all the service skills she’s learned and find the right AFD or specific PTSD service environment where she can show them off and use her goofy and cheerful ways to help change many people’s life for the better.
- Skills being learned: Maintenance and polishing of basic obedience, practicing polite meet and greets and exploring various types of AFD environments
- Recent field trips: Bowling alley, Ikea, Lougheed Mall, various training field trips.
- Possible behavior challenges: Occasionally vocalizing when curious, discomfort around glass drop offs and some stairs.
- Advanced training location: Burnaby
- Potential career path: AFD or PTSD service
Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Vesper!
