VESPER has been gaining travel experience this month by joining Ashley while she traveled to do some apprenticeship tasks. Vesper has taken plane trips as well as long car rides and is a good traveler.  She continues to work on her skills and is refining them in public while also working on appropriate responses to distractions such as golden retrievers and other fluffy dogs or people who love to say hi and talk to her excitedly in public. Since last month she has become a pro a shutting off and napping so she is ready to go when the action starts again.

  • Skills being learned: Practicing all existing skills, default check-ins around exciting distractions.
  • Recent field trips: Vancouver International Airport, various field trips in Alberta, PADS Okanagan and various other training field trips.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Arousal and mild vocalizing around new/exciting dogs and in novel environments, some difficulty maintaining focus in high distraction areas.
  • Potential career path: Service, PTSD or AFD.

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Vesper!
