WINNIE is doing really well with improving her retrieve grip and doing a calm duration carry of a dumbbell. When we had a very snowy week, she spent the off week with sitters and rocked practicing obedience out in the snow! She is doing great with her “pull” command on flat surfaces and is ready to start to work on “pull” on slight inclines and curb cuts. Although Winnie’s “pull” skills are progressing, we have hit a bit of a stall, as the current manual chair available for advanced training is no longer functioning properly to support Winnie as she learns to “pull” on more difficult surfaces. We hope to receive donations and/or funding to replace this chair with a proper chair designed for pulling soon and look forward to sharing more of Winnie’s progress once we have the necessary equipment to support her “pull” training.

  • Skills being learned: ‘Pull’, ‘switch’, retrieve with more challenging items.
  • Recent field trips: Metrotown Mall, Trout Lake, Lougheed Mall, other field trips with Ashley and advanced training volunteers.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Pulling on leash, barking at the door.
  • Advanced training location: Burnaby
  • Potential career path: Service

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Winnie!
