WINNIE has been working on walking next to a power chair. She loves to go fast! She is still working on staying in the loose leash walking zone and being able to go fast and burn off extra energy has been helping her to do so. Winnie struggles with alert barking, so she has been practicing set-ups with people entering a space and building an alternate behavior of a default check in/recall. She is also working on the foundations of several service skills and is starting to get the hang of them. Her first skill she officially knows on cue is “light”!
- Skills being learned: Loose leash walking, ‘button’, retrieve foundations, prey drive/impulse control work, remaining quiet when hearing door knocks or people entering a room.
- Recent field trips: Lougheed Mall, Winners, Robert Burnaby Park, various other training field trips.
- Possible behavior challenges: Pulling on leash, barking at the door, dog distraction.
- Potential career path: Service, AFD or PTSD
Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Winnie!
