Pupdate: Dear PADS community:

Change was in the air for me this month, as I moved out to Cochrane to live with my puppy raiser, Ashley. I have THREE new Husky friends to play with there! We have so much fun playing and the fluffy one even lets me snuggle with her. Ashley is a high school teacher at Central Memorial High School in Calgary so I get to go to school with her every single day! It was overwhelming at first, with all of the new smells and new people wanting to meet me, but she helped me out and I am starting to get the hang of it.

This month I have been playing a new game with Ashley called β€˜Who’s Training Who?’ When we are in class, either at the high school she works at or at puppy class on Thursday nights, I start barking or whining every time she talks. If she gives me a treat to stop me from β€œtalking over top of her”, I win. If she remembers to not give me a treat for barking, she wins. At first I won a lot–it was GREAT! Now, with some help from her friends, she is winning more often. I do miss the treats but I know she is trying to teach me how to be a great service dog!

I would like to say a huuuuuuge thank you to my new sponsors–Fiona, Christine and Mike Sharman, the owners of Global Pet Foods in Cochrane. They have generously donated to PADS to fund my whole first year of training and growing! You guys are the best!!!

Until next time!
Yukon
