ZARIA is full of enthusiasm and spunk. To say she loves to train would be an understatement; Zaria is always chomping at the bit to get into the training center and show Lisa how much she has learned. She is always excited for field trips and wants to be picked first to go out, sticking her head into any cape, even if it is not hers. When she is not working hard, she loves to have a good romp in the yard with her brother, Tako.
- Skills being learned: ‘Up’, ‘behind’, ‘my lap’, ‘foot’, ‘switch’, duration hold of various items, leash pressure.
- Recent field trips: New Westminster Quay, 6th and 6th New West, Ikea, Petsmart, Lougheed Mall, road trip to Calgary.
- Possible behavior challenges: Prey drive, especially for hose spray and thrown balls, jumping onto people when she is excited, often wants to bite and/or play with retrieve items.
- Potential career path: Service, AFD or PTSD
