ZIVY loves to play and we have found that the best way to reward her and build engagement is to play an energetic game of tug in the yard after a good training session. Zivy has been and will continue to work on her duration obedience around various distractions, as she struggles to remain engaged with her handler if she sees something particularly interesting. When she is not working hard, Zivy loves to have a good romp in the yard with her kennel buddy Truffle.

  • Skills being learned: ‘Get your leash’, ‘my lap’, anxiety interruption behavior.
  • Recent field trips: New Westminster Quay, 6th and 6th New West, Ikea, Petsmart, Lougheed Mall.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Some cape sensitivity, barking for attention or when startled, environmental distraction, sometimes struggles to engage with new handlers.
  • Potential career path: Service, AFD or PTSD
