Our friends at TELUS have wowed us again! Thanks to the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, the TELUS Thompson Okanagan Community Board today presented PADS’ Okanagan Program Coordinator Brian Smith and PADS Puppy-Raiser (and TELUS employee) Dave Prenoslo with a $15,000 cheque. The donation supports the PADS Accredited Facility Dog program serving youth in the Okanagan.

The grant will be used to sponsor an Accredited Facility Dog (AFD) team in the Okanagan Region.  PADS AFD’s work with community care professionals in a variety of therapeutic settings such as victim services, social work, education and healthcare.  These extraordinary dogs are purpose bred to have calm, stable temperaments, and trained for over two years to prepare for their important role in the community.

This donation is yet another example of TELUS’ long-standing partnership with PADS and their commitment to changing lives, one dog at a time.

PADS Executive Director, Laura Watamanuk, commented: “3 years ago we launched our Okanagan Puppy-Raising program and were welcomed with open arms by the Okanagan Community.  It’s heartwarming to see that impact expand thanks to business leaders like TELUS. Their generosity bolsters and encourages our volunteer efforts, funds the next stage of training, and most importantly equips us to place dogs back in the very community that helped raise them.”
