LINDSEYΒ &Β SILKY

Eight years ago, I never realized how much of a difference having a PADS dog would make on my life, or that she could help shape my career path.

At first, I thought I wanted to be an Education Assistant, because of how much I love being in the schools (Silky loves all the attention she gets from the kids, too!) After spending two years back at school myself, as a student, I realized how much more I can do to help other people in wheelchairs now that I have Silky by my side.

As a social worker, and having my great partner Silky, I will be able to make others more comfortable if they are feeling shy or not safe to talk. I have already seen her ability to bring out my own confidence, as well as the confidence in the children, and even the adults, I have met through my practicum placements in schools. It is such an amazing feeling. I do not know if I would have been able to be in this situation or had these experiences without my awesome PADS dog, Silky.
