Finch’s April started with coming back from the puppy swap! Finch had so much fun, LOTS of exercise and practicing “Up” on various objects. Going “up” on different surface levels is now Finch’s new favourite thing to do. It even helps her to bring her focus back to the handler when she is highly aroused.
Finch met a lot of PADS handlers this month. She practiced dog – distractions with PADS Coach, and also with the PADS family (Marsh II, Dior, Luigi and Waffle), to practice calm despite the doggy presence (Unfortunately, no photos).
Finch also went to a graduation ceremony! She did really well settling during the ceremony and got very curious about why everyone was cheering and clapping. Finch went to YVR for the first time to drop off my mom for her trip to South Korea.
Finch now loves going to the kennel and can quietly wait even if she sees me getting ready for work instead of immediately taking her out of the kennel. Finch “waits” well at the doorways instead of rushing out! Even off leash, she waits on the doorways to the backyard. Finch’s recalls have improved on and off-leash areas. 80% of the time she can immediately come to me.
Oh, and Finch turned 1 year old. The happy adult dog now!
