May was an exciting month for Finch!

Finch went to Crescent Beach and smelled the salty water for the first time! We made sure that she didn’t taste it too much but still let her experience it.

Finch met her grandmother, PADS Izzie, for the first time and had a lovely sleepover! PADS Izzie taught PADS Finch how to go through agility tunnels in the backyard, play tug of war, and settle with her at home.

Finch also spent some time with Mia, her sitter’s pet dog, who helped Finch to be able to settle down even with another dog present.

Finch went on a field trip to the UBC campus with her sitter, spent time there, and had an off-leash trail walk with PADS Calvin! Finch took transit from White Rock to UBC, there and back, and did super well on the bus & sky train.

Finch met COWS and got SUPER excited because she thought they were going to run with her! Unfortunately, PADS Finch realized that the cows would love to enjoy grazing by themselves, not with her.

By the end of May, Finch’s dog distraction has been improving every day! During walks, Finch could pass by dogs without heavily pulling on the leash, barking or whining at them 8 out of 10 times. Finch can do duration sits up to 1 min 20 secs and duration downs for 2 mins.

Finch made lots of Surrey/Langley PADS furrends and will practice dog distractions and more skills together!
