We are thrilled to announce our newest team! Everyone, meet Ross and Freya!
Ross shared his story on how this partnership came to be!
“Freya and I have been ‘matched’ for several years, first as a puppy in training and then as a PADS breeding dog. It was after Freya had completed her career as a breeding dog and was going to remain as part of our family that I realized how much of a calming, positive, and supportive influence she provided me when she was out with me in the vest. And so, I reached out to PADS to see if Freya could be considered for yet another career and be my service dog.
Well, as they say, “The rest is history.” With PADS support and Val and Margaret’s encouragement and coaching, we worked on honing and learning new skills, completed our Public Access, recently finished Team Training, and earned our blue vest.
I received this quote from a former colleague – “Police work. You get into it to change the world. You get out of it changed by the world.” With Freya along my side, I have the confidence to venture out into my changed world, knowing she will be there with her bright eyes, helicopter tail, and wet nose to help me through difficult times.”
