Mara II August 2024 Pupdate:

I love big bugs, and I cannot lie (down). Butterflies are my favourite – I jump up to touch them with my nose… but creepy crawlies are cool, too. I met this piece of nature’s work in my peep’s house, and I kept telling them to come and see it because it is huge and very elegant! And we must save it! I kept it awake, getting really close with my nose and breathing on it….while they got a jar, captured it, and I followed the bug and peeps to the door, and they let it go. All’s well that ends well.

Kinda like in Lynn Canyon Park- Chuck -peeps didn’t know, but I’d found a creature that was in a bit of trouble – was thirsty, I think. While she and I were all chatting with other walkers in the middle of the back road, she noticed I was not saying much and looked down and thought I was scraping black plastic off the pavement. As she reached down and told me to “leave it” I did, and the black frog dropped out of my mouth onto the road, and we watched it hop away – turns out it was fine. It was pretty big- a mouthful, but its flippers were still hanging out, funny thing, slimy, squishy on the outside – unlike bug. No matter, as Chuck’s peeps say – I wouldn’t hurt a flea- and I don’t. …except by accident when I play a bit too rough with my brother Ryder-peeps – and he squeaks and runs away, then I know he wants to play more! Him, mum, Chuck- peeps tell Ryder- peeps to ‘sit and stay” – but he won’t, and then I know for sure he still wants to play; “squeal, squeal MARA….MARA nooooooo” he keeps barking….and I know that means let’s play chase!!!! He’s just a big baby…er, puppy. I heard Chuck- peeps tell Ryder- Peeps, he is going to be great to help me learn four on the floor this week.

Speaking of critters, great and small, I was out walking, and this bear came into my nostrils as soon as I left our yard. I showed the peeps exactly where she had trod hours before – from one trash bin to the next – busted in a gate and then through a fence – light snack and take out via another exit she’d created in another fence. One of these days, we might meet in animal (person) – no idea what will happen then- surely Bear will want to play.

Mmmmm, I love bread – but it goes straight to my hips, so the peeps say I feel like bread, and so I bought a bread store.

Not so much, do I love the hot tub (which is called the “cool tub” in summer). I did find it refreshing – after the goggles came off– why do the peeps keep on putting peep’s clothes and such on me? I don’t like it.

Oh ya- got to go to the vet twice. Once to free up a womb and the other – well, let’s just say I ate something that was likely not going to agree with me (much past the best-before date) – but the black stuff in the tube tasted not too bad as an aperitif (contrary to what I thought in the picture).

Chuck peeps say it’s just good I love everything all the time- my tail never stopped wagging throughout my trips to the doggie Doctors. They all told Chuck peeps they’d fallen in love with me. I love them too – I love everyone- but I love my cohort trainer, Chelsea, the very mostest.

Life is great – it really, really is.

Bring on the Fall!
