Hi, Everyone!
I’m Falkor, and this is my first ever PupDate. I moved in with my Raisers only 18 days ago. I’m named after the Luckdragon Falkor from The NeverEnding Story. He’s famous for being wise, optimistic, dignified, friendly, and full-of-heart and for giving aid to people when they lose hope. Phew! That’s a lot to live up to! But my Raisers think my name fits me to a T – especially the friendly, optimistic and full-of-heart parts. They say I’ll grow into the rest.
Mostly, I’ve been busy settling into my new digs and getting the lay of the land. A whole new Kingdom to explore! I’ve pretty much conquered all the important stuff – like how to get kibble (hop onto my bed!) and which are the cool toys (my mascot dragon stuffie & tug toys for sure!) O! And how to Better Go on my leash with a cue. Nailing it!
Also, I’ve been showing off the great foundation behaviours my Breeder-Caretaker taught me – like politely sitting for kibble, happily trading my stuff, sprinting over when I hear PuppyPuppy, loving my kennel, getting my pawdicures… So, for now, my Raisers & I are building on that great start (thank you Breeder-Caretaker!) by adding a few new twists. Plus, I already learned how to play Tug from my Mom & Dragon Siblings, so I’ve been dazzling my Raisers with that. Anyway, the biggest deal is that I just LOVE learning – because that means happy human faces and lots of kibble!
I’ve been on a few short & sweet field trips, too, mainly to introduce myself to the world and vice versa. So far, I’ve been around the neighbourhood every day. My favourite spot so far is Susan’s front garden with all the great sniffs. Also, I’ve been on car trips to a few stores, Southlands Nursery, the churchyard with all the fun paths… At the nursery, I saw pumpkins that were exactly the same colour as me – Cloud White. O! And I went to my first Puppy Class at Christine Sinclair! Mickey, Minnie and Tiki from the Disney Rides Litter are my classmates – they’re magnificent!
So, I’m off to a great start! Thank you so much for checking in on me. Tonight, I’m going to Campus for my vaccines, and soon, I’ll be having a meet & greet with a great PADS Sitter. I’ll tell you all about it next time. Until then, find a pumpkin that matches you exactly!
