Happy Summer, everyone,
This month has been AMAZING, with so many new opportunities and fun adventures!
At the beginning of the month, we celebrated PRIDE with a whole group of us going to the North Vancouver Pride on the Pier. We were all dressed up, and my raiser put me in a tutu! We listened to music and wandered around the food trucks, and it was sometimes hard being with the 7 other PADS dogs, but I did really well.
The next day was VERY busy. It started with the most epic 6-month birthday party, where I got to meet up with my siblings, Ole, Encore, Bazinga, as well as Cayenne, Tesla and Lyriq!
Then we headed to the pride festival, where I slept on my raised bed while my raiser volunteered for Girl Guides to find some new leaders, and to wrap up the day, I had my first experience of the theatre. I did pretty well, but just couldn’t understand all of the clappings, so I didn’t fully settle throughout.
I was on the news! Tara said I was one of the most well-behaved puppies she had been handed, so this made my raiser proud, even if I did let out a little whine when I wanted kibbles.
The following weekend, my raiser and I were able to show off our skills at one of the PADS recruitment mornings where I got to meet the famous PADS Puma! Afterwards, we went to the race course for wiener dog races, and though it was really hot, I slept through nearly everything!
My brother Ole came for a trail walk where I showed him the swimming hole, which I just dipped my toes in, whereas he followed Electra and swam straight away, followed by an afternoon at Strange Fellows Coffee, which was serving pup cups for PADS. I got to meet another working dog, Louis.
I also got the honour of joining a group of new Canadian citizens at their ceremony, and I was so good even the judge commented on how I ignored everyone except for my raiser.
Finally, to round out the month, I got to go TWICE to the PNE, the first time was another guiding volunteering day for my raiser, where I just laid on my bed after a quick look to find some lunch and the second time we got to see the Superdogs show, which I couldn’t see but again was wondering why there was all this clapping. As we left Superdogs my nose started to wiggle, and there was my mum PADS Pear!
My raiser would like to add the boring bits; I am doing really well in class, though having my brothers in the class is a bit of a distraction. Working on my rear-end movement, but have all of the basic cues down.
