Meet TETLEY
What’s wonderful about TETLEY
Tetley is a very sweet and loving dog wrapped up in the cutest little compact package of happiness. This girl loves to work and learn! She is very eager to follow cues and is polite and neutral to furry feline friends that she has had to share her house with. Her house manners make her an easy girl to live with and she can comfortably daytime kennel for 4 hours. Most of the time, Tetley has fairly good leash manners and she is an easy companion on outings.
WHERE TETLEY NEEDS EXTRA SUPPORT
Tetley’s greatest weakness is her high arousal around other dogs. She doesn’t love to engage in roughhousing or share her toys, which has led to altercations in the past – upsetting for all involved! For this reason, it would be best if Tetley were the only dog in her future forever home. Tetley loves to be included and is curious about the world which has caused her to struggle with settling in a car – she wants to know what’s going on at all times! She has a tendency to bark at unseen noises and wildlife, which has also caused her to pull hard on the leash when she is not in an optimal headspace.
Home Requirements
Someone must be home the majority of the day. As with all PADS dogs that have spent their lives in the full-time company of their raisers, the living situation must accommodate not leaving Tetley alone at home for more than 4 hours/day.
A stable home environment is required. This includes regular exercise, grooming, veterinarian care, food, as well as other necessary supplies and equipment.
Released PADS dogs do not have public access, meaning they are not allowed to enter malls, restaurants, hotels, or shops that are not pet friendly. They are only permitted to go to public locations that are pet dog friendly. Before releasing a dog from our program, PADS evaluates each dog for other working careers. Tetley is not eligible for any other working career. Therefore, one of the conditions of adoption is that she may not be used by other agencies for other working roles (some exceptions may apply depending on the reasons of release, such as volunteering as a pet visitation dog).
