Snuggly Betty joined our household in mid-September to have her second litter of puppies. And on the 25th she presented us with 7 wriggly, hungry pups! This litter was named by the fantastic Okanagan PADS volunteers – and they chose a very fitting theme. Meet the Okanagan Provincial Parks litter!

We have our girls: Skaha III (yellow), Vaseux (black), Myra (yellow), Fintry (brindle), and Mabel II (black). And the two boys: Haynes (yellow) and Bromley (black).

The first month of a PADS puppy’s life is one with lots of change! They grow like little weeds on momma’s milk, then get to start eating mushed-up kibble at 4 weeks old. Their strength and mobility go from crawling around the whelping box to toddling around on unsteady legs to escaping the whelping box! Eyes and ears open up, adding to how they interact with the world – we keep things fun and interesting giving them new items and experiences to expand their comfort levels with all sorts of things. You never know when you will have to walk across bubble wrap or encounter the sound of a braying donkey after all!
