At 9 weeks old, Kiyoko and her sister Chickpea came to PADS from Service Dogs Australia! They made the long journey by plane and arrived in Vancouver mid-month. Their fare and import costs were covered by CNIB. Welcome, little ones to Canada and PADS.

Then, a few days later, Kiyoko and Chickpea and two other PADS puppies were driven by raisers Alana and Dave and arrived in Kelowna, BC. The next day, I picked up my 4th PADS puppy, Kiyoko to start our next adventures together.

What a sweet little girl, so calm and adorable! I’ve only had her for one week, and already, her lovely personality shines through. For now, she sleeps a lot and is getting accustomed to her new surroundings, her kennel, her new mom, her dad, and her pet cat Max. Our colder temperatures and snow have been a bit of a shock to her since it is summertime and hot in Australia.

She’s already put on her cape and has been around town a bit where she’s been a big hit. We’ve been out for Wing Wednesday already, reading with the kids at the local elementary school, the grocery store, and the local brewery. She does spend most of her time napping while we are out, but a young puppy needs her rest to grow strong!
