Happy Canine Fitness Month!

We celebrated with off-leash walks on different trails each week and lots of training in movement. Sits, stands, heels and sides – Puzzle loves practicing and showing off his skills. If he gets confused about what is being asked of him, he goes into a “down” and looks up with an earnest “did I get it right?” expression.

April is human’s busiest month of the year for work. Puzzle was supportive by sleeping in his bed or curled up at human’s feet, not bothered by virtual meetings or the sounds of the keyboard. He enforced breaks during the workday by taking human for walks in the sunshine. And we ended every day with a snuggle.

On one of those walks, we found the sponsor of Puzzle’s newest litter. We didn’t want to drop in without an appointment, so we took unofficial marketing photos. After that, Puzzle faced a fear, visiting a creature that was very scary, the first time they met (on a cold winter’s night). In the spring sunshine, Puzzle found Royal Sweet Diamond to be a friend, not a foe.

PADS Saphira and her human invited us to be tourists in our hometown, walking through different neighbourhoods and visiting museums and the planetarium. What a great day of different experiences: loose-leash walking with another puppy, exploring new spaces, and settling during shows with strange sights and sounds.
