Hi Everybody,

I’m a pretty grown-up boy now, I am 13 months old and enjoying the bootiful Okanagan sun in my yard, my bed… everywhere. We didn’t go golfing yet, as I really liked that last year, but my peeps wonder how I am going to fit on the cart now that I am 65 pounds. We’ll figure it out!

We gots a new zippy lead that lets me wander all around on nature walks at parks near us. I went to a brand new park, which was very cool, with lots and lots of kids and dogs and sports fields. It’s called DeHart Park. We even had a picnic one day. I really like having my lunch outside, but those ants are really pesky. I also go to the dog park now cause my mom says I am very well behaved with other puppers. I always kiss em first before we run and play, which my peeps say is adorable. Shucks, I guess I am pretty cute. Plus, sometimes I even hear my folks call “here,” and I stop playing to go see what they might have for me. Sometimes it’s just kibble, but sometimes I gets a piece of apple. I love apple! After I am so tired, I go home and snooze in the sunshine.

Everywhere we go, Costco, Walmart, Home Depot, Save-on or even the Kelowna Golf and Country Club, when we go for dinner with friends, folks say how well-behaved I am. My people are very proud of me, but I guess that’s because I’m a big boy now. They say I was a handful when I was little, but I sure don’t remember that!

But it’s not all fun and games. Lots and lots of training to do, too. My peeps made me a back-up board like the ones at puppy class. I am learning to sit more nicely and also how to back up, so I know where my big feets are. They call it the Cato board. With recalls, sits, downs, twirling on my perch pot, leave it and backing up, I gets tired out. And they make me wait at the door before I can go out and before I can have my dinner. Sometimes I make a big drool mark on the floor. But then I gets the magic word “release”…Yum!!

I’ll let you know what happens in May, but I forgot to tell you my people took me to vote cause they said it’s really important to vote, no matter who you pick. So we went and I sat and waited very nicely in the line while they did it, even tho there were lots of little humans running around and yelling. Doesn’t anyone teach them manners?

Catch up with ya next month.
