Hi, I’m back, and it’s been quite a month, as it started with me going on a puppy swap. I was with another raiser for 2 weeks. She’s a teacher, so I went to school every day, and it was fun. Mom had a different pup from our cohort, and she slept in my bed and played with my toys. It was ok, as I did the same thing at the other raiser’s house. Our trainer likes to do these swaps, as it’s good for us to have different routines & training. While I was away, besides going to school, I went to a Whitecaps game, restaurants, and pubs, and I got to play with PADS Ole – he’s also black and much bigger than me, though.

The day after I was back with mom & dad, we accompanied a family member to the hospital for day surgery. I kept her calm until they took her away.

I was only back home for a day and a half when I went to a sitter, her name is Jo, mom had arranged the sit before she knew about the swap. Mom knew I’d be in good hands and could handle the transition well. I had a blast, and we walked to Krause Farms with another raiser and her dog. My brother Windsor came for a play along with another PADS dog Mickey. Jo has a huge yard, and we had a good run together. Now, Jo is an excellent sitter and did lots of training with me too, and she said I was a very good puppy.

Back home again, the training continues with an outing to IKEA with three other raisers, and going to mom’s physio appointment. We attended a work party at PADS, met PADS friends and their dog at a brewery, and the best part of this month was turning 6 months old cause I got to go to our cabin in Birch Bay. I met all of my mom and dad’s friends and other dogs. Mom took me to the ocean while the tide was out, and I loved it! I’m looking forward to spending lots of time there this summer.

We had a class at a dog park, and we practiced “go play”, checking in and recall. I definitely had more fun than mom – she was so afraid of having a dog run into her as she’s had a few injuries, so I can’t blame her.

Well friends, that’s my pupdate for May – see you next month.

Hugs,
Meadow
