Zoe:
Lots of things to bark about this most wonderful month of May;

Got out and about a whole bunch;

I’m not scared of heights as I had no problem at all crossing over the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge- and afterwards, we went for ice cream- DQ has a ‘pup cup’, the same size as a kid’s soft serve but less money (participating locations only), only second time ever for that, have to watch my flank but it was worth it.

I’m in High School now!!! Here I am with Pads Diego and handler/Partner Tamara McKay (counsellor instructor) at Carson Graham Secondary.

We stop by Carson for a visit every week or so when dropping off my bro Ryder (grade eight) to do that thing where Chuck does β€˜harsh my joy’ and stuffs kibble in my mouth when I get excited about seeing another dog…’
(Charly: dog excitement/socialization training)
…then I’m double joyful β€˜cause I get lunch AND have a friend!!!

Charly:
Diego is the perfect gentle dog; other than the initial jump up/on and around with joy upon first seeing one another (Diego and Zoe, not Tamara and I). Diego is the perfect counselling/support/facility dog; hardly ever taking his gaze from Tamara except to return the greeting from the kids in passing. Aslan, (Deslin β€˜s Brother- also at Carson) β€œran into” Zoe earlier that AM …never saw him coming; quick and fleeting- we think he’s a yellow also, but it was all a blur…

Zoe:
…then there was the trip to the paw doctor (paraphrased: podiatrist). I usually just drop by Teri’s for a mani-pedi, but I went with Chuck to her appointment. Here I am with Dr. Tammy Kallman at Hollyburn Podiatry.

Charly:
In the elevator in Dr. Kallman’s building, I noticed Zoe was looking up but not at me – she was looking past me to (what I discovered) the mirror on the ceiling where she noticed a really nice yellow lab. Even the staff at the clinic didn’t realize there was a mirror on the lift ceiling). Last week at physio, Zoe ran out of the treatment room to another yellow lab and did a nose plant right into the mirror on the wall- she does a triple take every time she sees her reflection – still. She must find that all yellow labs look mostly the same, as I (used) to. She still smiles at herself when she figures it out, and I say, ‘Yes, Zoe, you are beautiful.’

Right outside Dr. Kallman’s is Ambleside Pier. Wow- Lions Gate Bridge and a Freighter passing by, what a wonderful place it is to be a dog- and human.

Zoe:
Bring on this month called JUNE…it will be my first…
