Hi guys, Donner II here to tell you all about my month. Because last month I got the rest of my vaccines, I’ve been able to spend more time with doggy friends and off-leash on the trails. My new friend “Uncle Boomer” took me out to sightsee and practice recalls. In the past, I’ve tried hard to nibble all the flowers I see, but this month, I’ve really begun to understand that that’s not what the raisers want. So, to sit in a flower field, with Boomer, without snacking, was a good chance to demonstrate my developing impulse control.

My new vaccinated status has been well-timed since June was warm, so I got a chance to cool down in some creeks, also there were a few doggy parties that I got to attend. The first was my mentor Taj’s birthday! We settled, splashed in the creek and took festive photos (I am in the pink on the far right). Another occasion celebrated was Father’s Day, where my brother Haynes and I got to see our dad, Goji. I wasn’t fully sold on wearing the hat, but I’ve been told that I have lots of time to practice over my time with my raisers. Lastly, I have a new trainer and we were invited along for their end-of-year barbecue where I even got to lick and create my own painting!

I’ve continued accompanying the people to appointments, though this month, it was the dogtor! During one exam, I took it upon myself to untie the dogtor’s shoe laces… apparently, that’s not what I was supposed to do, but hey, I’m still learning! Another dogtor’s office was on a big and busy road, which gave me the chance to practice my loose leash walking and luring. All these calm skills have been put to use at home, in the library and even at a nursing home.

Another big and exciting part of my month was going on my first puppy sit, where I made a new friend, released PADS Mirabel! I was very happy to be handled by new people, and tried my best to be mature like Mirabel (work in progress). This sit happened because my raiser had her university graduation, which was too long for me to attend. Don’t worry, once they picked up a very sleepy me from my sitter, we took some photos.

I ended up spending the rest of my month with another sitter, where I went to work, explored and gave lots of love to their whole family.

I’m excited to see what will happen next month, surely lots of training, fun and kibble.
