This month, Maeve spent some time with a sitter where she practiced her skills on outings to the usual kinds of places, such as grocery stores, malls, and restaurants, and then, for something a little more challenging, she went to see a dog agility competition! At first, it was overwhelming for Maeve with lots of unfamiliar dogs, many of them barking excitedly, but after a while, she was able to sit quietly in the stands and watch what was going on around her. Maeve also went away with her sitter to visit friends, where she met Larry, the Afghan Hound. She was not at all sure what to make of him at first, as he’s not like any Labrador she’s ever seen, but they were good friends in the end!
Maeve will now be moving back to the Burnaby Campus to finish her training. The Burnaby Advanced Crew is excited to have her join the pup-versity.
