Well, friends, I have survived my first month of school at SFU with my human. I’ve been practicing a ton of settling in classrooms and the odd lecture halls. Some days are better than others. Humans cohort is very accepting of my vocalizations as I get used to this new lifestyle. Going to school also means commuting on buses and sky train rides. In September, it was all about getting used to transit, and next month we will work on positioning and tucking myself out of sight.
I’m still working on the basics, such as loose-leash walking, duration, and distraction with my cues. With all these changes in my everyday life, sometimes it’s good to take a step back and practice being calm. It’s a work in progress folks!
